On The Construction Of University Student Social Practice Base

University student social practice is an effective way to combine education with production, to follow the principle of combining theory education with practice learning, to strengthen education practice. It is inevitable to train people for the overall development and it is also an important component of the socialist higher education. The department of propaganda, the office of civilization, the department of education and the center of communist youth league of China sent out a paper in 2005 called "to strengthen and improve social practice of university students" which points out: it is the fundamental principle of ideological and political education of university students to combine theory education with practice education. To participate in social practice is indispensable for university students to feel the great practice of Chinese characteristics; to deepen the understanding of Deng XiaoPing Theory, "Three Represents" and the Party's lines, principles and policies; to firm the common ideals and beliefs about the great rejuvenation by taking the socialist road with Chinese characteristics under the leadership of the Communist Party of China; to know the society and the national situation, to increase the knowledge, to serve the society, to practice the mind , to cultivate the character, to strengthen the sense of historical mission and increase the social responsibility. It is of paramount importance to train qualified builders and reliable successors of socialism with Chinese characteristics. There must be stable places, namely social practice base to carry out social practice activities effectively. Stable social practice base is not only the premise of the standardization, the carrier of the scientific development and the protection of continuous development of university student social practice; but also a great help to learn lessons from the social practice and make innovations. Students can enhance employability and get additional employment opportunities through social practice on social practice base.Strengthening students social practice base building in the new period of social practice is very necessary not only because changing the higher education from the traditional "closed" operating system into a modern "open" one needs it, deepening the reform of college teaching and study needs it; to realize the specific objectives for talent that calls to develop all-round socialist builders and successors with innovative and practical ability morally, intellectually physically and aesthetically needs it ; but also because it is the inevitable choice to go with the development trends of combining education with social practice of the higher education in the world;it is the objective requirement of the development of university student social practice and it is the real requirement of enhancing the competitiveness of university students and resolving employment problems。Then, the author give some basic ideas about how to build student social practice bases in the new era: to raise the awareness of the importance of building social practice base to establish its rightful place in higher education; to mobilize government, local organizations and universities to participate in university social practice base construction; to do well in choosing and consolidating the base; to follow four principles, namely, joint cooperation, mutual benefit, education benefits-oriented, economic and social benefits in balance principle and the principle of a point to an area being exposed to a large extent and to build many base patterns。...
