Perfectionism as a personality trait and thinking mode, was the interactive result of college students and external environment for a long time, and one kind of relatively stable characteristic that an individual showed in different situation. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships with perfectionism and learning motivation, mental health in Hunan college student. Using Chinese Frost Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale, Study Process Questionnaire and Sympton Checklist 90,this study tested undergraduates in 5 colleges in Hunan. According to the statistics of the data , the results showed:1.There were significant relationship with perfectionism and learning motivation, mental health in Hunan college students. Perfectionism affected learning motivation and mental health directly. At the same time, Perfectionism also impacted mental health indirectly through learning motivation. Doubt about actions and personal standards, parental expectations impacted mental health indirectly through simple motivation.2. There were significant relationship with perfectionism and learning motivation. Perfectionism had some effect onlearning motivation and could improve the intensity of learning motivation. Personal standards and organization greatly affected achievement motivation. Doubt about actions and personal standards, parental expectations impacted simple motivation. Organization and personal standards affected deep motivation.3. Perfectionism and learning motivation had some effect on mental health. Mental health was affected by concern over making mistakes, doubt about actions and simple motivation negatively, whereas was affected by organization positively.4.There were significant differences among gender, major and city or country in perfectionism , learning motivation and mental health in Hunan college students. There were significant interaction effects among gender , major and city or country.
