Taking the fourth and fifth Population Census data of districts and counties of Beijing and Tianjin as the basis of Empirical Study, the paper compares the population migration and urban spatial distribution of Beijing with those of Tianjin from both microstructure and macrostructure. Although the two cities has similar economic level and close region space, in the macroscopical view of population, the rate of natural population growth in Tianjin is higher than that in Beijing and the rate of population migration is far lower. Compared with Beijing, the urbanization level is lower and the development speed is quite slower. The research on population in microscopical view shows the phenomenon of population migration sole-core congregation in Beijing is obvious. The population of the outer suburb and the center part is decreasing, and the near suburb is the only and most active area in population growth. The population of Tianjin congregates in urban center and Binhai New Area ,and in outer suburb the population tended to incerese in the past ten years. The research on the economic structures of the two cities indicates the differences of macroscopical population migration between the two cities lie in the different industry structure and the microcosmic differences lie in industrial distributions. The study on urban space policies, mainly history of urban planning, show different policies of urban space influence the spatial distribution structure of population deeply from from both microstructure and macrostructure.
