Nowadays Chinese teachers face great challenge resulted from the discussion on Chinese teaching at the end of the 20th century. Every teacher should think about the following questions: how to teach the students, what to give to the students, what kind of students they will be. Some educational psychology knowledge is necessary for the teachers to solve these problems and there are a lot of new such kind of knowledge all around the world. However, we should also take the educational wealth in the history into consideration. Confucius' educational psychology has great impact on Chinese education. It's of great importance to study it to make a breakthrough in Chinese teaching.The analyse on Confucius' educational psychology ideology constitutes the first part of the article. It begins with the reason why Confucius' educational psychology ideology is so popular is that his theory is in accordance with the modern educational psychology principle. Then the article introduces the principles "teaching students in accordance with their aptitude" and "heuristic". They still work because they accord with students' cognitive rules. Lastly, the article conveys the information of understanding, respect, love, and exchange ideas with students equally are key factors in Confucius' teaching to establish successful relationship with students about which modern teachers still should learn.The status quo and the shortage of educational psychology knowledge in modern Chinese teaching is the following part. The lack of interest in Chinese teaching is caused by the pressure in the intolerant Chinese class. And conclusions can be drawn that the educational psychology plays so important a role in Chinese teaching that research and appliance of it must be paid special attention to in order to keep Chinese teaching reform moving on.The last part "combining Confucius' ideology with the practical teaching reform" requires teachers to teach students how to learn, how to learn with pleasure incurriculum reform so as to make the students be versatile and integrity to achieve the goals of new syllabus. Furthermore, it tries to give the answers to the problems what the teachers need to do and how to set up new relationship with students, which most of them come from Confucius. Combing Confucius' ideology with the modern educational psychology ideology all around the world, teachers can cultivate the students into individuals with high attainment who are most beneficial the society and who can pass the Chinese civilization on.
