One of the most important characteristics of human being is his/her independence. Hence, the ultimate goal of education is to enhance the development of the student and to emphasize the independence of the student. Specifically speaking, it is urgent to develop the independence of the student. Under the guideline of the principle mentioned above, this paper explores new approaches whose aim is at making student independent and self-participant in political lesson.We have defined the teaching activity as a special cognitive activity which emphasizes the role of the teacher for so long time period. That means, the point is that knowledge is transmitted from teachers to students in a systemic way. This view directly led to the situation that students are ignored in education activities. Besides, the personality of the strident is controlled and the participant is underemphasized. Albeit the value of moral education depends on the independence of the student, it is difficult to assure the value because of the old teacher-centered teaching method. In order to change the situation, this paper aims at making the contribution to the moral education in higher school by means of implementing a new approach which can evoke the students' internal interest and which can foster students' independence and creativity. In the process of participating in the teaching and learning activities, the fascination of moral class can exert the influence on students, the correct idea and the connotation of moral can be realized by students, and the emotion, attitude and world value of students can be changed to a better situation. In consequence, the efficiency of moral education is to a great extent enlarged.This paper is divided into four chapters. Chapter one is mainly about the introduction of education for fostering self-participation. It defines the connotation, fundamental characteristic, and theory cornerstone of the new approach. Chapter two is mainly about the description of the meaning of the new approach in political lesson. It elaborates the value of the new approach in education and in development of the student. Chapter three analyzes the current situation of the students' self-participation in moral education. Moreover, the goal of this part is to demonstrate the factors that contribute to the situation. Chapter four studies the new approach in political lesson. It calls for a powerful learning and teaching environment to activate the motivation of the student and to evoke the students' needs for independence. In an effort to enable student, actively and merrily, to participate in teaching and learning activity, this paper advocates some principle, known as 'keep participant', and in the meanwhile givessome feasible strategies for the new approach.After being explored, the conclusion based on the author's experience is reached that in mora.1 education the new approach that scaffolds students' independence and that encourages students to participate in learning and teaching process can enhance the independence of the students, foster their interest and confidence in learning, enlarge their achievement in political lesson, and facilitate their comprehensive improvement.
