It's of current significance to comprehend the leadership behavior of principal to improve the work of school management. With the subject of educational administration entering China, this grove of academy attaches more and more importance on the study of principal's leadership behavior.On the basis of the theory of leadership behavior and according to the two aspects related to "the care to people" and "the care to work", I made the survey according to the description tables of Steven P Robbins' two dimensionality of leadership behavior. I apply the SPSS 12.0, Origin6.1, Excel2000 and other software to my statistic analysis of the data and I made the study of principal's leadership behavior in secondary and elementary schools on the basis of these calculations. The research contents include:1, The overall conditions of the two dimensionality which are "the care to people" and "the care to work" in principal's leadership behavior are obtained from the principal's self-evaluation and other persons' evaluation respectively. And then make the study of the current situation of the principal's leadership behavior.2, Analysis of the differences in principal's leadership behavior under different circumstances.3, Analysis of the differences in teachers' perception of principal's leadership behavior.4, According to the case study of two schools, I make the description of the principal's leadership behavior and make the analysis of the differences between teachers' perception and principals' self-estimation in leadership behavior.The analysis of the research reaches the following conclusions:1 , No matter whether the principal's self-evaluation or other teachers' evaluation, "the care to work" in the principal's leadership behaviors higher than "the care to people". In terms of "the care to work", teacher's average perception is higher than a principal's self-examination. In terms of "the care topeople", teacher's average perception is lower than a principal's self-examination.2, The principal's leadership behavior can be divided. The type of "superior to work, superior to people" which is obtained from principal's self-evaluation is more than other teachers' evaluation, while the type of "inferior to work, inferior to people" which is obtained from principal's self-evaluation is obviously less than other teachers' examination.3, There are no marked differences in principals' care to work and people on condition of different areas, types of schools, natures of schools, profession post, terms of service and scales of schools. But there are certain differences in principal's self-examination of principals' leadership behaviors on condition of different gender, subjects and teaching years.4, There are no marked differences in teachers' perception of principals' leadership behavior on the care to people and to work on condition of different gender, professional post, educational background, subjects. But there are certain differences on condition of different age, terms of service and posts.5, There exist some differences between teachers' perception and principals' self-estimation in leadership behavior on the care to people and work.This thesis also integrates the results of research and put forward the rational ideas and proposals to make the references for the principals to let them adopt the best leadership behavior, improve the sound progress of school and strengthen the development of principals.
