Thanks to the China's reform and opening policy, its entry into WTO, and global information era's coming, our country can keep a closer contact with the world than before, which has stirred the Chinese strong enthusiasm of learning foreign languages. In this case, the bilingual learning, that is, Chinese and another national minority language (mother tongue), is inadequate to meet the demand of social development in minority ethnic district. Therefore, trilingual education's researchers in minority ethnic district in combination with local development are committing themselves to the teaching practical research of such three kinds of languages as native language, Chinese and English, and also make a deep research with the theory of pedagogy and psychology. National Ministry of Education in "the fundamental requirement of English Curriculum Education in elementary schools (practice)"put forward in February 2001, that "it is a basic requirement for 21 century citizens to learn and master a foreign language", has decided to enhance foreign teaching for minority ethnic district since 2001, and listing English as major content of fundamental educational reform at the beginning of 21 century. The decision has made contributions to cultivate minority ethnic talents of high quality compound type who master various languages in 21st century, which will pave broad road for three kinds of languages' community in the primary and high schools.This paper mainly focuses on the history of the trilingual education's development in Yanbian ethnic district. On the bases of ethnology, pedagogies, linguistics, psychology and disciplines on cultural study, and so on, this essay analyzes the current situation, finds the appropriate measures to deal with recent barriers, so as to offer helpful experience for the development of minority ethnic by studying the historical process of trilingual educational development in Yan Bian district in the leading position among ethnic education by means of literature analysis, historical research and inductive methods etc.This essay consists of four parts.Introduction makes definition of major concepts mentioned in the essay, seeks reasonable study perspective, and applies scientific research methods, further making a foundation for the development of this essay.The first part simply deals with the feasibility, necessity and meaning of carrying out trilingual education for minority ethnic, so as to offer favorable evidences for the trilingual teaching in minority ethnic.The second part divides the history of trilingual educational development of Chao Xian Minority in elementary and secondary schools of Yan Bian district into such five stages asgermination, spontaneous development, initiative and exploration, wander and zigzag, adaptation and revival, enrichment and perfecting, then discusses respectively.The third part is focused on the problems existed in the trilingual education's development in Yanbian ethnic district and solutions, which would improve the quality of the trilingual education's development in Yanbian ethnic district.The forth part provides the common problems on the trilingual education's development in China's ethnic district through the trilingual education's development in Yanbian ethnic district, and provides experience for reference, which would make the trilingual education's development in China's ethnic district much better.
