The 3 versions of Group Environment Questionnaire and Leadership Scale for Sports were modified and revised on the basic of literature analysis and interview. The reliability and validity were explored by reliability analysis, item analysis and CFA. The Athlete Role Involvement Questionnaire and Athlete Collective Efficacy Questionnaire was designed and its reliability and validity were explored by reliability analysis, item analysis, EFA and CFA. 581 subjects of various university sports teams in HuBei province participated in the study examining perceived group cohesion, leadership behavior, athlete role involvement, and athlete collective efficacy. Hierarchical Linear Modeling and other statistics methods were used. The results revealed that (1) athletes perceived leadership behavior, role involvement and collective efficacy were the major predictors of group cohesion. (2) The second level differs on group cohesion declined when those predicted variables on the group level were appended to the HLM model. (3) Leadership behavior and collective efficacy should be regarded as group variable, and role involvement should be regarded as personal variable. (4) Sport sorts can't predict group cohesion effectively.Cluster Analysis was used to explore the involved 81 teams should be disassembled to several sorts on mean within athletes perceived group cohesion. The results revealed that, an accumulation appear in the data. The sports teams separate into 3 clusters on different level of group cohesion. The correlation of clusters and sports sorts didn't reach the significantly level.
