Research On Occupation Instruction In Higher Vocational-Technical Colleges

Along with the fast development of the higher vocational-technical education(HVE) in our country,the occupation instruction(OI),as an emerging specialized service,will demonstrate its significance.The systematic and real diagnosis research on OI bears important theorectical and practical significance.Based on the related research on HVE and OI,the author think that there are three features which are characteristic of OI :usability,integrity and localization.And the author expounds four main tasks of OI:raise student's professional quality,help the student to understand their own characteristics;grasp the high quality professional information and transmit it to students promptly and effectively;enhance student's ability of vocation-decision and career-plan-decision.According to the above understanding,the author investigates 1500 students and teachers who are responsible for student's psychological consultation and occupation instruction in four HVC in Ninbo district,through questionnaire survey and individual visit-talk.After the investigation,the author discovers that HVC and the students in HVC attach much importance to OI,and the content and channels of OI are vairous and diversified,and also discovers that the time of OI extends from entrance to colleges to graduation.However the effect of OI is not very good.The students in HVC in Ninbo are realistic toward their future,only to satisfy their needs;they know clearly where they want to go to start their own career,but they lack plans;most of them have clear self-understanding,but they know little about the world of occupation.Through thorough investigation and analysis,the author thinks that on the one hand,we should acknowledge the work of OI of HVC in Ninbo,on the other hand,there are some problems.The main problems are 1) professional workers in this field are not enough;2)information provided by colleges is of low quality,and the information channels are not expedite.This article put forward a series of countermeasures to improve the work of OI of HVC against the present situation and main problems.These measures covers 1)set up thesystem of 01 ,and improve the quality of 01 professionals;2)set 01 as a compulsory course;3)associate colleges with enterprises and encourage the college media to take part in it.
