Middle school music teachers, the organizers of music teaching and learning, are the most important variables that affect the efficiency of music teaching and learning in middle schools. Effectively evaluating the music teachers in middle schools is not only an important part of school work but also the essential conditions of teachers' growing and developing. While, middle school music teachers' teaching activities and the results of their activities depend up the quality of music teachers, which will function for long and direct their future. So the application of music teacher quality evaluation has great significance in middle school ,because it can improve the quality of teachers, develop their work, set up a high-qualified music teacher team, and promote the development of music teaching and learning.Based on the comprehensive study about teachers' evaluation literature and combined with practical investigations, this thesis is intended to lay emphasis on the construction of the Middle School Music Teacher Quality Evaluation Indicator System and its application. It is composed of four chapters:Chapter One is to provide a general introduction to the thesis, such as the reason why the theme is selected, the present research situation, the definitions to some key concepts, the research methods and the processes used in the thesis, etc.Chapter Two reviews the previous approaches to teachers' evaluation at home and abroad, then elaborates on the present situation of middle schoolmusic teacher evaluation in China and analyzes its problems.Chapter Three aims at constructing the Middle School Music Teacher Quality Evaluation System. Grounded on field survey and literature research, this thesis adopts Delphi method to set up a system, the indicators of the Middle School Music Teacher Quality Evaluation System and their relative importance, And then puts it in to practice to be tested.Chapter Four makes a study of the application of the Middle School Music Teacher Quality Evaluation System. It uses many different evaluating subjects in the formative evaluation and summative evaluation. Different evaluating subjects according to their knowledge about different evaluated teachers adopted different evaluating contents to make an overall and multi-angled evaluation to middle school music teachers.In summary, the main object of the thesis is to provide a theoretical foundation for the practice of evaluating music teachers in middle schools by making a profound study about middle school music teacher's quality evaluation. The application of middle school music teacher quality evaluation could benefit teachers and students together, could promote the development of teachers and students at the same time, could mobilize teachers' enthusiasm to the fullest extent, and improve the quality of music teaching and learning in middle school on the whole.
