The new senior course reform has begun. The core concept that everything is for the development of every student has a strong humanistic color. This article is based on the new senior course reform, discussing deeply how to make political and ideological education more effective in order to reach the goals of political education according to humanistic education. This article is divided into three parts. The first part deals with the definition of humanistic education and points out the content of humanistic spirit of our time. The second part deals with the cause of the lack of humanistic spirit in the education of senior politics owing to the social roots and the defects of exam-oriented education. It also pays emphasis upon the important part which humanistic education plays in the education of senior politics. The third part discusses individually how to combine senior ideological politics teaching into humanistic education from six aspects, that is, teaching concept, teaching content, curriculum, the type of instruction, learning style and teaching evaluation. This part makes it clear what is the foundation of humanistic education and what are the basic requirement, the important approach, the basic means, the necessary conditions and the effective guarantee of humanistic education. The idea comes from the author's teaching experience of many years and from the teaching cases formed through practice. The methods are mainly document researches, questionnaire surveys and behavioral approaches.
