As one of the three main learning techniques, cooperative learning is also a distinguished feature of the changes of study in curriculum reformation. It's not only the means and strategy of realizing our teaching aims ,the style of the reasonable intension and existence for moderncitizens ,but also the educational aims in our new century. Facing the situation of the implementation of open-book exams for politics in junior school, the politics teaching must change the traditional instruction of pouring, duck-filling teacher-centered method. The teaching process mustn't be controlled only by teacher but controlled by both teacher and students. We must make our classes lively and interesting.Due to it, we must apply the CL into our politics teaching. On the basis of studying the relevant theoretical research in cooperative learning, according to the requirement of new curriculum standard and aiming at the politics teaching features and the psychological characteristics of students, this thesis has provided three basic modes of CL for politics teaching: team-games-tournament. Analyzing the various effects, it has mainly been found that CL can boost students' study interests, develop the students' ability of their anticipation and cooperation and improve the interpersonal relationship among students. It can also improve their self-respect and exercise the ability of working autonomously on their own.
