The Investigation Of Marriage Concepts Changes In Rural Area Of Jiangsu Province, Zhejiang Province And Shanghai City Since 1980's

As the reform and open policy is developing in depth, great changes have taken place in China since 1980's. In the background of social changes, family as social cell and marriage as the sign of family establishment are changing tremendously too. Marriage problems are concerned in everybody's and every family's happiness or sadness. The development and evolution of marriage problems are not only direct representation of family problems but also refraction and miniature of the whole society. The result of solving marriage problems is directly concerned in the family's even the whole society's steady and development normally. So this thesis is trying to investigate marriage concepts changes thoroughly in rural area of Jiangsu province, Zhejiang province and Shanghai city since 1980's.Because concept changes have many aspects, there isn't possibility of expounding all the changes. So the thesis only selects several main aspects to expound. The thesis is composed of five parts.The first part is introduction. It gives a brief account of the thesis including the explanation of the significance of the title selected, the analysis of present research situation and the introduction of the train of thought.The second part expounds marriage concepts changes in rural area of Jiangsu province, Zhejiang province and Shanghai city since 1980's totally. It considers concepts of choosing a spouse, devoice and remarrying and equality of the sexes in marriage as objects of study. It sums up marriage concepts changes in rural area of Jiangsu province, Zhejiang province and Shanghai city and gives some reasons. When expounding concepts of choosing a spouse, it selects three angles: the way of choosing a spouse, the standard of choosing a spouse and the way of marriage establishment. Since 1980's in rural area of Jiangsu province, Zhejiang province and Shanghai city, the proportion of youthful independent marriage is higher and higher. Young people regard love as the most important factor when choose a spouse. Independent marriage is becoming the main style of marriage establishment. People in rural area of Jiangsu province, Zhejiang province and Shanghai city have already accepted devoice and remarrying instead of looking down upon them. People's marriage concepts have turned modern from traditional. Men and women are equal in marriage life. Women are not appendage of men.The third part tries to analyze the marriage concepts changes in the background of social changes. It mainly analyzes influence and function which social economicdevelopment, social circulation speedup and increase of level of education exert on marriage concepts changes. High-speed rural economic development in Jiangsu province, Zhejiang province and Shanghai city, and great increase of peasants' income have provided material base and precondition for marriage concepts changes. High-speed village and township enterprises development changes traditional life style, enhances young people's economic status in family and rural society and adds critical counters to young people's independent marriage. Social circulation speedup has a far-reaching influence on the rural marriage concepts changes. One aspect is that doing manual work outside hometown increases peasants' income and provides material base and precondition for rural marriage concepts changes. The other is that social circulation provides carrier for city civilization to influence rural area. It points out that if we want to change rural marriage status quo and improve rural marriage overall quality, we must speed rural economic development, strengthen rural spiritual civilization as improving peasants' material life, reinforce dissemination of new marriage law, perfect new marriage law's content concerned, reinforce supervision and management to people who work in rural marriage registration office, strengthen work of rural women organization and some other organizations concerned, enhance marriage moral concepts, and adhere to principle which combines law with morality.The last is concluding remarks. It sums up all the arguments.
