A Study On Mathematics Education With Literature

Educational management should grasp the direction of the educational development and promote the educational reform, and at the same time take the initiative position in the process of the reform.The knowledge disunion which resulted from the scientific and technological revolution in the western countries several hundred years ago brought in the education disunion, and now education tends to become reunion.Reunion education is an important topic in educational management research. This thesis studies on how to unite the mathematics education and Chinese education, which is defined as mathematics education with literature (MEWL).The introduction part and the summarization part focus on the necessity, the importance and the possibility of MEWL.The part of the classroom practice describes how I actualized MEWL and how teachers and students evaluated this practice. The result of the classroom practices shows that most students like MEWL and the teachers approve it.Though some achievements have been made in my research, this thesis just started the exploration on MEWL. Limited by the scope, the number of people and the time of this research, strictly speaking, it does not have the conditions of positivist research. It offered a few ordinary introductory remarks hoping that others may offer their valuable ideas. Further studies is still needed on how to evaluate the effect of MEWL and on how to widen and deepen it.The basis of MEWL is to develop mathematics poems. In the appendix part of the thesis, there are some mathematics poems as reference for people who are interested in the study or practice of MEWL.The famous professor Nan Huaijin has said: "Only reaching the literature level can knowledge and education be said success and be passed down generation by generation. The old Chinese made many mathematics poems to teach mathematics as well as other ancient nations like India and Greece."I hope that this study can widen the view of the modern mathematics education.
