Historical Research Of French May Movement And Its Influence To Higher Education

The sixties of the 20^th century are great times for students' movements, among which May Movement in France was the most influential one. The movement was started by the students, participated by all classes of French society , and it shook French higher education institution greatly .Through the historical research of May Movement, the article clarifies its background, process, features and its influence to French higher education and society. The movement changed the French politics, economy and higher education very much. The reason of the movement was that students opposed the old higher education institution, so the biggest effect was on higher education. The direct result of themovement ——The 1968 Orientation Law on Higher Education came into being,which facilitated the higher education reform, therefore, French higher education entered its modern development period. The purpose of the article is to study the movement thoroughly, analyze its impact to higher education and get some enlightenment to deal with the problems of higher education in our country.
