This paper introduces the new ideology of junior school geographical class instruction under the new curriculum standards. The essential distinguish between new curriculum and old curriculum is the ideology. The core ideology in the new curriculum is for the development of every student, which includes three levels of meaning: curriculum should keep eyes on students' development; should face to every student; should pay attention to the comprehensive and harmonious development for students. New curriculum implies these basic ideologies: (1) The curriculum should face to students, life and society. (2) The Class activities must emphasize the knowledge and experience which have been attained by students, and teaching should be respect students' particular sensing and comprehension. (3) Advocate the study spirit of independence, cooperation and exploration. (4) Students participation in teaching is the core of the curriculum. (5) The main melody of new curriculum reform is cultivating students' innovation and practice ability. (6) Teacher must be an organizer, guider and participator in students' activities. (7) Combine curriculum with class. (8) The essence function of estimation is fostering students' development In the guide of new ideology, implement the junior geography class instruction design, and explore from these aspects: geography curriculum goal design, geography teaching tactic choose, geography teaching methods design and so on. The new curriculum standardizes the geography curriculum goals again , in the person of the goal's hiberarchy , which include such goals as "knowledge and skill", "process and method", "emotion attitude and concept of value" and so on.. Compared with middle school geography instruction tactic with traditional geography teaching, the new curriculum shows a series new requires. New curriculum advocates study by independence, exploring and cooperatioa Students' experiences play an important role in studies. And emphasis on the experience and sentiment of students in the studying period, emphasis on the structure of knowledge formed by the main body of students. In the teaching methods, it embodies the emphasis on capability cultivation, technique induction and self-exploring spirit for students. Based on these, the author makes a geography class effect design, and experiment on junior students of 2006 in the affiliated school of southwest normal university. The results show the new ideology is suited to all students and make an notable effects.
