The Research Of Urbanization Process In Jilin Province

Since the implement of the reform and opening up policy in the 1970's in China, the urban and rural economy of Jilin province increase with fast speed and urbanization accelerates significantly. At the same time, the floating labor force becomes more and more. The situation causes us to pay attention to a series of problems about the urban and rural economy and social development and make prospect and plan for the future. Based upon these objects, it is necessary to study the relation between the economic development and urbanization and disclose the current condition, tendency and problems. The whole article consists of six parts. 1.Theories Basis of the Research Firstly, introduce the specific meaning of the related concepts, including urbanization, region urbanization and different standards of evaluating level of urbanization, then introduce the related theories, at last summarizes the research results about the urbanization in China recently. 2.A Review of Urbanization of Jilin Province since 1949 For the standard of dividing urban and rural areas changes frequently, the true level of the urbanization is not reflected well based on the statistics data of Jilin Province. According to the demography data from 1949 to 2002 of Jilin Province, we adjusted relative data of urbanization in order to make them more comparative. 3.The Conditions and Problems of the urbanization (1) Current condition The urbanization level in Jilin province surpasses the industrialization level.
