| Teacher Professional Development is the main aim of teacher education. Teachers'participating in educational researches is one of the essential approaches to accelerate TeacherProfessional Development. But as a matter of fact ,the deviation of Educational Theory andPractice is very evident and participating in educational researches has become the patent ofeducational theorist, so teachers have to stand outside of the gate of educational researches.From the viewpoint of School-Based Educational Research, teachers have the ability andquality to make researches and they are the main bodies of Teacher Professional Development.Based on this viewpoint, the author tries to clarify that School-Based Educational Research isone of the most effective approaches to accelerate Teacher Professional Development. Besides,the author also wants to arouse public cognition to the importance of Teacher ProfessionalDevelopment and teachers'participating in researches, to perfect traditional modes of TeacherProfessional Development and to show the right direction of Teacher ProfessionalDevelopment.The main method of the thesis is abstract reasoning. It is composed of three parts.In the first part, the author clarifies the concepts, the backgrounds and the approaches ofTeacher Professional Development. First, the author defines the fundamental concepts inrelation to Teacher Professional Development. Then the author demonstrates the agingbackground, the educational background and the subjective background of TeacherProfessional Development. We hope that people could know the importance of TeacherProfessional Development better through our analysis of its backgrounds. In the end, theauthor advances two essential approaches that can accelerate Teacher ProfessionalDevelopment which are teacher educational system and teachers'participating in educationalresearches. The author considers that participating in educational researches is the primaryapproach for teachers especially for in-service teachers. In a word, the intention of the firstpart is to make matting for the demonstration of School-Based Educational Research.The second part is the central part of the thesis. In this part, the author clarifies theconnotation and the orientation of School-Based Educational Research firstly. Secondly, theauthor demonstrates the central argumentation of the thesis in two angles: theoretical andpractical. Theoretically, the author cites four theories which are respectively Theory ofReflection, Theory of Construction, Theory of Teacher Professional Development and Theoryof Study Group.
