With the development our economy, the education becomes increasingly important to both the individual and the society. People have completely recognized the important economic value of education, so their demand of education becomes larger and larger. Formal public education can't supply the demand, so Minban education has become one important part of our education system to supply people's demand, and it has become one important force to push on the popularization of our higher education and the development of our basic education. However, in the development of our Minban education, the problem of whether Minban schools can make profits has been always baffling our educational practice, which is also a focus discussed by people. The problem of whether Minban schools can make profits and how they make if they can has relation to the willing of social capital invested to Minban education, and also influences the healthy development of it. Hence, to solve the problem in theory is very important at present.The first part of this article defines the concepts of 'Minban schools' and 'making-profits', and illustrates the theoretical and practical meaning of studying the problem of Minban schools' making-profits. The second part analyses the feasibility and necessity of Minban schools' making-profits at present, based on discussing the essence of educational products, the public-benefit of education, the equality and efficiency of education, the behavior of the investors of Minban education, the development of Minban education, the development of students and international comparison. The third part distinguishes for-profit Minban schools between non-profit Minban schools, and analyses the meaning of this. The forth and fifth parts respectively illustrates marketing conditions of Minban schools' making-profits, necessary investigation and discipline of it. The last part analyses the status and function of Minban schools at present and the restricting factors and respective of its development.
