The objective of reading writings in classical Chinese should achieve the unity of facility and humanity in terms of the new curriculum criteria. Teachers should exert their effort to the achievement and amalgamation of the following three dimensions: knowledge and competence; process and method; and emotion, attitude and value view, which is considered to be an important mission of the new curriculum criteria. It also attaches importance to students' literary accomplishment and requires them to undertake the important task of passing on our traditional culture.The core of culture is the unity of knowledge and humanity. Therefore, it is particularly important to achieve the harmony between the two. And it's also a contradictory topic in Chinese teaching which one is more important than the other. Reading writings in classical Chinese possesses distinctive meaning due to academic disputing and thinking. Distinctive reading objective will result in distinctive value tendency, which undoubtedly leads to a new specialty in class teaching, teaching material construction, curriculum assessment and integral practice, etc. In the course of teaching writings in classical Chinese, teachers can example the precious experience of traditional literators, while at the same time, the teaching material system has become the barrier of classical Chinese literature reading, and furthermore, the curriculum assessment can't agree with the examination.To sum up, it's necessary to do research into the strategy, through which the reading objective of the new curriculum criteria can be achieved.
