Abstract/Summary:
Zhang Juzheng, who acted as the prime minister of Wan-li period for more than ten years, had a profound influence on the late political situation of Ming dynasty. For several centuries, people have different opinions on him, praising or criticizing him for different purposes. A deep, all-aspects research on such an important personage will lead to objective judgment, and not only help us understand the relation between the tradition and the modernization but also the relation of politicians' political actions and the social development. Zhang, who was not a educator but an influential politician, his actual political action, to some extent reflected his educational opinion and perspective. The thesis definitely analysizes his educational ideas and the foundation of the ideas from macro-educational conception. The first and second part of the thesis makes an account on Zhang's educational activity, analysizes Yanming Xin-xue's influence on Zhang's educational ideas, and points out the main purpose of the ideas was to solve the social problems. The third and the forth part definitely focuses on Zhang's opinions and claims on royal education, family education, national cultivation and school reformation etc. and thus makes further conclusion that his educational ideas, which had a deep pragmatic color, were based on the traditional culture, especially had a relation with xin-xue.
