China is a country that values education very much. Chinese people hope education will greatly benefit the country in the future. However, in recent years education in China has been criticized a lot, especially in teaching the subject of Chinese. Many people concerned are considering what is wrong with Chinese teaching. What have we lost when we teach the subject? People are thinking over the questions and putting forward their opinions. The society' s concern has directly improved the reform of Chinese teaching. The author holds that the biggest mistake in Chinese teaching is that we failed to foster students' habit of asking questions. When students go into the classroom, they bring no questions, and when they walk out of the classroom, they have no questions, either. However, teachers turn a deaf eye to such a phenomenon, which is the saddest thing in the field of education. According to the study of modern thinking, thinking begins when a question is located and comes into form, and any thinking process is pointing to a specific question. Without questions, thinking will become a river that has no source, or a tree that has no root. Furthermore, creation originates from questioning, and fostering the ability of creation can' t be separated from question awareness and creative thinking. So, teaching Chinese must centers on questions, foster students' question awareness, creation awareness and their personality of creating. Thus we can break the ice of traditional education by questioning teaching, rid the fact that students would not like to think independently, raise new ideas, and then echo other students' opinions. In this way, students' ability of creating and thinking independently can be greatly developed. The author is inspired by the former USSR' s theory of question teaching, and on the basis of his practice of teaching Chinese, holds that teaching Chinese should aim at fostering talented people with the ability of creation, strengthen students' question awareness, and develop students' spirit of creating and creative thinking. Teachers should try to encourage students to find, put forward, analyze and solve questions. The author explores teaching Chinese by way of the basic theories of questioning teaching, teaching objectives, teaching guidelines, structural functions, and teaching strategies.Class teaching is the mail approach of quality education, and the starting point of education reform. Facing the tide of class reform, we must update our educational ideas, advance with the times, and explore a new, effective way of teaching Chinese through question teaching.
