Educational research results indicated that one of the crucial factors affectedstudent's ability development is the teacher's ability.Along with full scale developmentboth IT in education and the educational reform, educational technology applicationability should become the important constituent in teacher's ability.In July 2004, the Beijing Normal University,the Northeast Normal Universityand Microsoft (China) Limited Corporationstarted the project named " EducationalTechnology Profiles for k-12Teachers", which goal was to formulate a set of teacher'seducational technology profiles conformed to Chinese national condition. This papersystematically introduces the meaning, studying method of the project, references, systemdesign and studying procedure. This paper includes seven chapters:First chapter introduces the meaning and the goal of the project. Through analyzingthe meaning of studying the profiles and introducing the objects and methods producethe thought of the profiles.Second chapter briefly introduces thestudying methods and references. Theforeign standards includes: ISTE's National Educational Technology Standards forTeachers and for Administrators, AECT'S ECIT certification Standard, the NationalCurriculum for England: Information and Communication Technology, Teachernet'steacher standard framework and English National Standard for Elementary and MiddleSchools Principal. The domestic researches mainly focus on teacher's educationaltechnology application ability and educational technology specialized undergraduatestudent teaching goals.Third chapter introduces how to design the framework of profiles. The contentsinclude: analyzing the profiles' nature, designing principles, system structure designideology, comparative analysis between foreign standards and Chinese standards, and thediscuss about teachers' profile.Fourth chapter mainly introduces the procedure of studying profile. Based onrough draft and corresponding investigations, the researchers have set down modificationplan.According to this plan, the researchers have carried on the careful revision, finallyformed the profiles first draft.Fifth chapter is the draft of the profile.Sixth chapter is the discussing edition of the profile.Seventh chapter is the end of studying profile.The development work of Profiles is an important matter to Chinese teacher-education. Its chain-like effects will have huge influences to the entire education. Wehave the confidences to believe that profiles will be able to obtain good realization underthe national policy direct impetus and our country's educational technology also willobtain the bigger development space along with this standards' promotion.
