The curriculum reform is always great research task of the education reform. The newcurriculum system of elementary education in our country initiated inquiry, learning style. Thecurriculum criterion definitely pointed out that science inquiry was not only a kind ofimportant learning style, but also important substances of biology in compulsory education. As significant means of the science study ,at the same time , inquiry is also significantcultivation target in the curriculum stipulation . and all of these can be achieved throughinquiry. No inquiry activity, the ability of science inquiry looks like the tree without roots andwater without sources. The textbooks were the main origin that students obtained information ,and maincurriculum resources to implement inquiry activity. As to inquiry learning ,we studied a lot,but relatively little to inquiry activity of the textbooks .Therefore, I laid a strong emphasis onthe study of inquiry activity of textbooks. The article made a comparative research in the inquiry activity and cultivate students,inquiry ability of several biology textbooks in compulsory education of our country, andclarified the science inquiry, implication,feature and fundamental segment, discussed someproblems in the new textbooks, implementation and some factors which influenced thescience inquiry, implementation, and evaluated the activity setup of three version textbooks,put forward some viewpoints in laying emphasis on validity of inquiry activity, design andforming constructs the problem situation and exploring in ideology. The conclusions can giveteachers a reference in teaching with the textbooks, and I also hope that the conclusions canoffer a assist to textbooks, editors who revise them in the future.
