| As science technology widely applied to industry and the quick development of tertiary industry, the working positions become split. It appears in two aspects, One is the range of technology gets larger, another is the levels get higher. So vocational education is changing from secondary to advanced.Advanced vocational education has been developing fast since 1998 and it plays a very important role in higher education. However, there is a long distance to go to meet the needs of market for advanced skilled workers. It is not easy for the graduates from advanced vocational school to find a suitable job while some enterprises can not seek the skilled workers. The main points are the shortage of characteristics in advanced vocational education, the accuracy of orientation and lack of combination between theory and practice. Then, it is the common responsibility for all faculty and staff in advanced vocational colleges to study the characteristics, explore the principles and approaches which form the uniqueness.The feature of advanced vocational education mainly lies in the fallowing aspects: running a school, teaching, school management and teachers training.
