The essence of quality-oriented education is to help students to achieve all-round development, which covers the education of physical quality, psychological quality, scientific quality, social culture quality and so on. Students' promotion is the basic aim of education. Primarily, the students should be assisted to improve themselves physically and mentally. Then, they are prepared to meet the challenges provided by the society and the market economy. Therefore, the practice of the quality-oriented education demands that the appraisal concept should be replaced by another one which focusing on developing the individual quality. However, which kind of appraisal method can effectively contribute to the students' all-round development? In order to find the answer to this question, this thesis makes a lot of relevant analysis and investigation, through different kinds of research methods including reference analysis, questionnaire investigation, interview discussion and activity study. Meanwhile, following the guide-lines of the Essentials of the Basic Education Curriculum reform and the Standard of Chemistry Course, This paper tries to search out a practical evaluation method for the new chemistry course which accords with the principles of quality-oriented education.On The base of the analysis of the theoretical basis of Junior Middle School Students' Evaluation of Chemistry Learning and the investigation of the present situation of Junior Middle School Students' Evaluation methods of Chemistry Learning in the experimental areas, we did some exploration.On the basis of research and analysis, it draws the conclusion as follows:Firstly, It is necessary to establish Portfolio for chemistry study through the following strategies, let students play the main role in study and create positive surroundings for the establishment of portfolio for chemistry study. More interaction between teachers and students is helpful to exploit the profound impact of portfolio evaluation on students' well-round development. Much attention needs to be attached to teachers' guide role and the quality of evaluation based on portfolio for chemistry study will improve.Secondly, evaluation method by means of activities should be carried out in the process of the Junior Middle School Students' Learning of Chemistry which involves the combination of overall evaluation and focus evaluation , teachers' evaluation and students' evaluation, evaluation based on activity and evaluation constructed on portfolio.Thirdly, it is demanded to compile the principles, such as purpose-contained principle ,scenic principle, opening-up rule and activity-involved principle, of the paper-and-pen test in chemistry for junior school students.
