As a social common project, Olympic sports vest in society, and it needs the human'ssupport and participation. However, it still has a serious problem that is women discrimination.Take this for an example: in ancient Greek Olympic Games, women did not have right toparticipate in Olympic sports, even having no right to watch it. This kind of phenomenon stillexisted until the 1st modern Olympic Games, which was held in 1896. In order to get the rightand chance to participate in the sports match with the man on an equal basis, women,accounting for about half of the population of the world, really have gone through a difficultpath. The changing orbit can be fully reflected from the development of Olympic sports. Withthe development of society, women have become more and more important in politics,economy, education, culture, law, and society participation etc. In modern society, Olympicsports is one of the most powerful activities in the international community sports, and itssupreme form of expression -- Olympic Games (abbreviated as "OG") is the most dazzlingand magnificent jewel in the cultural treasure-house of human social sports. Its activitycontent, organizational form, cultural tradition and spiritual system have extremely deepinfluence on the development of sports all over the world. Women's Olympic Gamesparticipation is not merely the whole social indispensable content of sustainable developmentbut also an important sign of weighing the civilization degree of human society. Owing to this,women's participation in sports match has become a great social realistic problem, to whichthe whole world pay close attention. Through the activities in the Olympic sports that womenparticipate in, we can carry on omni-directional research on the women problem and can doprofound research on the international women's movement too. For many years, manyresearchers only gave a brief description of the women's development and changes inOlympic sports from one side, or described women sports from discipline domains, such associology, psychology, history, etc, but there's still no deep discussion of overall research ofwomen's participation in Olympic Games. This dissertation chooses women who wererelevant to ancient as well as modern Olympic sports as the main target, attempting to combout women's historical orbit in the development of Olympic sports. Through collecting a lot ofhistorical materials of women's participation in Olympic sports and women sports, relyingmainly on the methods of documents and materials and logic analytic approach, thisdissertation shows the development course that for a long time how women who aresuppressed and fettered by traditional customs dare to challenge the customs, pursue theequality in face of ridiculing and misunderstanding and go through all kinds of hardships and IIIdifficulties to join in the Olympic sports enthusiastically. This dissertation set out in the visualangles which influence women's participation in Olympic Games, such as society, politics,economy, culture of the development of Olympic sports, etc. Combining with otherdisciplines as the theoretical foundation of this thesis, an analysis no women's history andreality in the development of Olympic sports is made to seek the inherent law of women inOlympic sports from it, and to review women's historical development orbit in Olympic sportsdevelopment so that to offer consult and enlightenment for women's future Olympic sportsparticipation, and to perfect women's participation in Olympic Sports it would have animportant influence to improve all women's quality and to promote the process of women'simprovement.
