From Capacity-oriented To Ecological Art Education

Based on long-term research and teaching practice in the vocational higher school, the author begins this paper with the view of ecological art and methodology, researching the ways for developing the art attainment for students of vocational higher school. The author also brings the concept of "ecological education" to the art educational field of vocational higher schools. Having made an analysis for the essence and key elements, the author tells us how to combine individual ability in art and capacity of humanities to the goal of development. In addition, the author lists some rules for forming art attainments. Finally, the author gives some suggestions on how to improve art education of vocational higher school.The author considers that traditional art education in primary school as well as middle school committed an error circle since we have ever been emphasized the possession of artistic knowledge and skills. As a result, the art education has been confined on art science only. We ignored the relation between student's experience and art. Art was separated from other science. As a matter of fact, art education in primary school and middle school is to teach the students the art of being citizens rather than art profession-oriented education. The education must be helpful to the students' future life and do good to their bodies as well as their minds.By the observing, experiments, retrieving and so on, the author shows us some phenomenon's that obey the rule of "ecological harmony" in art education in vocational higher school. For example, the students are skillful but know nothing about other areas.Furthermore, the author offers us the concept "the ecological art education of coming back to life".In the author's opinion, the cultivating of art attainments attaches great importance to students' comprehensive abilities in vocation higher school. The basis for forming art attainments relies on the environment of art education and the latter relies on a natural, harmonious, open and creative ecological education system. Coming back to life is not retrieving and going backwards blindly without paying attention to the natural instinct of the learners. It is a concept of human-centered on vocational art education which respecting the artistic nature of the learners and the rules of developing art education. It stresses on the value of ecological harmony that causes the learner to develop vividly and harmoniously. Those would help to cultivate artistic interest in art and to stimulate artistic potential of learner's. As a result, we can reach the goal of combining and developing art capacity and humanities attainments.Based on the these analysis, this paper probes in the operation of ecological art education, and also the basic rules and author's opinions in art education in the view of ecological harmony.
