In recent years, the phenomenon of teenagers committing suicide, hurting and killing others become more and more. So, we should review the existence state of teenagers, pay attention to their life quality, and give a great deal of thinking to the deep existing problems of current education from this kind of phenomenon. From that, seeking the solution is the urgent affairs. And the result of giving careful consideration will initiate a topic that we cannot but face undoubtedly --death education.In medicine, death is the cease of breath and the beating of heart, the degradation of reaction, and the death of the cerebrum. In contrast, the conception in philosophy is more complicated. It involves the somatic death, the spirit death and the "self-denied" death, and pays more attention to the research of the relation between death and life. In sight of philosophy, death and life are opposite and at the same time are unified two aspects, if there is life, there also exists death, and the same as the opposite. Death has irreplaceable influence to life, because people realize that they must die, realizing that death may come at any time, so they think the meaning of life, pursuing the value of life, hoping the surmounting of death. Just because of this, the death can become a kind of opportunity of education. As a major event in life, it is unprecedented deep experience that the death brings to children, and the caused thinking is innumerable too. Leading children to view death from life and reverse, such education may be rooted in the hearts of the people. Meanwhile, probing into death, knowing death and making human body life and spiritual life of people reaching on perfect become incumbent on education. Just because of this, death have close relation with educate, and this is the reason that we have to propose death education.Generally speaking, death education is one that helps people understand the essence of death, obtain various kinds of knowledge of death, know the dialectical relation between life and death, lead people to think the meaning of death, impel people to view death from life and the reverse, to treasure the life and face dying straightly, promote people to appreciate life, encourage people to devote themselves into life, and give the transient life with limitless value of the education. At present, in many western developed countries, such as America, Germany, Japan etc. and Taiwan, Hong Kong district of our country, death education has already get suitable development, and has made much succeed experience on many factors, such as development, exploration of curriculum plan and teaching material, teacher's training, and the way and approach of implement etc. Comparatively speaking, in the main land area in China, we provide little death education to students in the instruction of subject, and in mental-health education and family education, we can see little element of death education. In practice, we lack definite consciousness and intention, run short of corresponding curriculum plan and teaching material, and students are imbued some wrong notions of death and life. Examining the fact closely, we can say that the regular, systematic, conscientious death educational practice are close to the blank in the interland of our country, and the relevant theoretical research is extremely limited too. However, in any case, to implement the death education to the middle school students should become our wise choice, because there are its inevitable foundations for the implementation of the death education in middle school, and there are its unique value and deep meaning.From the point of view of philosophy, people are existence that not only need knowing oneself and knowing death, but are existence that need surmounting oneself and surmounting death.
