The objective of modern geography teaching in middle school is to cultivate talents who have competitive consciousness and cooperative spirits.At present, there are some problems that teachers in middle school are widely concerned. For example, converting traditional concepts of geography teaching, constructing a new teaching mode in accordance with middle school students' developing characteristics of cognitive psychology and science traits of geography, reformation in geographic classroom teaching and so on.With more than one year's practice and exploration through geography teaching, the writer brought forward a new theory called "Double-role co-operation" theory. It is based on the theory of collective education by Makalianke in Soviet Union, the theory of developing by Haris in America and the Formation Learning Theory.The proceeding for this mode is as follows: designquestions--think by themselves--cooperation--each airs his ownviews--evaluation and encouragement.Contents:1. The connotation and basic theories for "double-role co-operation" theory.2. The operation system for this theory.3. The application and practice for this theory. Conclusion:1. As a result, this theory suits for the students' cognitive psychological developing characteristics and it suits for geography characteristics.2. It can arouse students' interest in studying geography. It can improve their geography knowledge and basic skills.3. After adopting the "double-role co-operation" theory for a long time, it is good for cultivating students' collective concept. It can make the students have good character like self-confidence, self-respect and so on. They can also communicate and cooperate actively. They can also have creative spirits.
