Research On Information Literacy Of Adult Learner And Their Educating

Along with the information society approach, everyone has something to do with information all the time. Adult learner, as a special member of social community, will do nothing without information. Then it is necessary to educate adult learner to improve their information literacy.It is important to realize the present state of information literacy of adult learner. There are some questions followed in adult education, less literature search, unreasonable structure of information technique curriculum, less using library books, weaker consciousness of information literacy, less information moral. To meet the demands of social development, adult learner development, lifelong education, we must try to improve the information literacy of adult education.Ideal information literacy of adult learner is composed of the information knowledge, the information consciousness, the information ability and the information morals of adult learner. The information knowledge of adult learner consists of the traditional culture knowledge, basic knowledge of information, foreign language knowledge. And among them, the basic knowledge of information is the core. The information consciousness of adult learner consists of the idea of respecting knowledge, the idea of new time-space, the consciousness of facing the future, the consciousness of information subject, creative consciousness. The information ability of adult learner includes the ability of using information application and information technique, the ability of acquiring information, the ability of managing information, the ability of communicating information, the ability of creating new information. And theinformation morals of adult learner is made up of the information production morals, information spreading morals, information usage morals, conforming to information laws.There are three ways to adopt steps to improve the information literacy of adult learner. First of all, macroscopical government manage is composed of the governmental policy, the public opinion leading, the governmental finance supporting. Secondly, adult higher schools should take some steps to improve the information literacy, such as more teacher continuing education, more reasonable curriculum construct, better teaching materials, better evaluation mechanism of information literacy, more hardware developments, more software inputs. Finally, it is necessary for the individual to develop himself in family life and in social life.In a word, it is a social systemic project to improve the information literacy of adult learner. And adult learner need learn to improve themselves all life long in information literacy.
