Neutral tone is a kind of special but common modulation in the pronunciation of Putonghua, It not only plays an important role in conveying feelings , expressing meanings exactly and strengthening the musical characteristic of Chinese pronunciation. But also is one of the most important criterions to judge if one's Putonghua is up to standard.But the uncertainty of neutral tone and the lack of the sense of neutral tone in those people who lives in dialect area and also is influenced by dialect make neutral tone teaching a difficult point in Putonghua teaching .Especially in the teaching of primary and middle school, the teaching of Neutral Tone ,which is one of important contents in the teaching of phonetics, did not cause enough attention because the teacher there put more emphasis on literature but neglect pronunciation.Besides,the study on the theory of neutral tone is rather weak,and the explore on the principle and method of neutral tone is a piece of totally blank sheet. All of these made the teaching of neutral tone a "bottleneck" in Putonghua teaching.From the viewpoint of neutral tone teaching's history and actuality,this paper creatively propose the common and special principle: Read necessarily with the in common use neutral tone the phrase teaches the limitative principle that read; The layer pass type teaching principle of the phrase an article; Hear the system type teaching principle that recognize read to say; Practice again and again, habitual practice in formation type teaching principle; Completely full with confidence neutral tone speech characteristic, heavy principle in high teaching in modulation ; Regulation that follow the light tone phrase, heavy at method that knowing and recording the principle leads to lead; Put forth effort to educate the light tone language feels, heavy at read aloud, talk the language flow the disciplinal principle, moreover, it analysed and discussed the application of neutral teaching method from the pronounce . the recognition and remembering of thewords and the training of the sense of language. Meanwhile, explaration was made in accordance with the optimization of teaching method,and a conclusion that emphasis should be paid on the comprehensive wage of different methods, different methods for different individuals, the modernization of teaching methods was drawn. Finally, practical designs were made in the concrete application of methods and the implimentation of teaching principles in this paper, and combining the teaching theory with the practice, theexamples enhanced the practical characteristic of this paper.In short, this paper comprehensively applied the related theories knowledge that made use of the teaching theory , linguistics , psychology, and explored creatively and detailedly the principles and methods of neutral tone teaching among the primary and middle school students.
