Three years have passed since the 8th curricular reform was carried out over the whole country in the autumn of 2001.The reform is effective on the whole, however, some problems exist. Of these problems, I am conscious of the gap between curricular textbooks and life, the gap between teachers' life and students' life, and the distortion of ideal curricula in operation. So I chose "life-oriented moral curriculum" as my research object, analyzed the real curricular textbooks and took field study to make know the real life in rural area in order to find the core of the problems. I expect to help the students with their moral development and decreasing the gap between ideal and reality by life-oriented moral curriculum which is from the life, in the life and for the life.To begin with the relation of moral curriculum and life, I try to find how the new moral curriculum understands and expresses the life and how to be used in the moral curriculum. In this thesis, on one hand, I show the new curriculum's ideal: It's from the life, in the life and for the life; on the other hand, I show the real life of the children and the real state of the new curriculum in the rural primary school. We will find that there is great gap between the ideal and the reality. Facing with the gap, the moral curriculum should make full use of life to help the students with their moraldevelopment. If so, the curriculum will grow in the life and the morality will become charming in the life.This thesis is composed of seven sections and the main contents are divided into three parts.The first part is composed of three sections, including "Introduction", "Definition of the key concepts" and "The tracing of life-oriented curricula". Firstly, I briefly describe the background of moral curriculum's life-oriented and analyze the intension of some concepts relating to "life-oriented moral curriculum"; Then I trace the history of the relation between moral education and life, and show the lack of life-oriented in the old textbook. From historical and real aspect, I verify the rationality and necessity of life-oriented moral curriculum.The second part is composed of two sections, including "Analysis of curriculum textbooks" and "Real life and curriculum's description". The thesis analyzes how the new moral curriculum understands and expresses the life and interprets the ideal of the new moral curriculum. By contrast, I investigate the true life of the rural children and the true moral curriculum life. Through field study I show the great gap and the problems between the real curriculum and the ideal curriculum and try to reflect on the new curriculum rationally.The third part includes "Reflection on life-oriented moral curriculum" and "Conclusion". On the base of analysis before, I show the essential relation between moral curriculum and life. I differentiate "life-oriented curricula" from "replacing curricula with life" by the fact that life-oriented curricula can choose and value some kind of life. I insist that the moral education should be carried out through the communication between the teachers and the students with the textbooks as media, and realize that "curricula grow in life and life with morality becomes happy".The curriculum reform is not only a process of popularizing the new curriculum idea, but also a process of facing with factual problems, solving the factual problems and reflecting itself. Making moral curriculum life-oriented is one way of curriculum reform, but not one way of solving all problems. The key is that no matter how to reform, we should base on the current fact, care about the need of therural children, and do benefit children through reform.
