The Research On Senior English Teaching Based On The New Curriculum Standards

The thesis makes a summary about the theoretical studies and practicalexploration of senior English teaching based on the new curriculum standards.With the social development of the 21th century and the new demands fortalented people, the English teaching reform has become the key point of theteaching reform in the new century. As for the present English curriculum in thesenior stage of our national elementary education (i.e. senior secondary school),its educational idea is outmoded and the courses offered lack diversity andselectivity, and it cannot meet the new demands for the senior Englishcurriculum which are proposed for the new situation. For this reason, our StateMinistry of Education draws up English Curriculum Standards For OrdinarySenior Secondary School. The thesis analyzes the world trend of the foreignlanguage curriculum reform and also the main problems present in the process ofsenior English teaching in our country. After theoretical consideration to thecurriculum standards, combining the teaching practice, adopting action research,it makes a thorough research on how to carrying out the senior English teachingwith the idea of the new curriculum standards and puts forward the ways andmeans of achieving the new curriculum objective in the course of the currentEnglish teaching. They are reforming classroom teaching, showing concern forfeelings and attitude, improving learning strategy, developing cultural sense,adjust appraisal ways, exploiting and making use of curriculum resources. Inaddition, the thesis emphasizes that teachers are the significant element of theeducational reform, and that teachers are the key to achieve the objective of thenew curriculum.
