| Recent years, research-based learning is an important content of the Chinese basic education reformation; it indicates modern education ideas and reflects era's requirement to the education; it has very important value in instruction and development.The author enumerates histories of latter-day's research-based learning and developments of world research-based learning of the time, analyzes Chinese actual study on it. According to all of this, the author establishes thecritical problem needed to solve in research-based learning study-theinstructional design of research-based learning which is the emphases of author's study. Based on the understand and analysis of research-based learning's connotation and characteristics, the author explores theories and model of instructional design which contains instructional design's theoretical foundation, characteristics, principles, instructional design's content and pattern. Grounding on theoretical study and teaching practices, the author concretely discusses the establishment of learning object, the selection and design of learning material, design of learning process which are pivotal tache in research-based learning. The most important is that the author offers effective examples which explain pivotal tache in instructional design concretely, especially two integrated examples which are obtained during my practice in the middle school affiliated to Renmin university of China, they are designed according to the instructional design theories.
