I'm a mathematics teacher in a middle school and I've been teaching junior mathematics for ten years. The grade that I'm in has been undertaking an experiment on a new round of basic educational curriculum reform since September 2002. As a teacher in the new century , I should devote myself to the current of curriculum reform actively . In order to make great progress, I often review the past and sum up my experience through the theoretical study and practical operation.The paper expounds the knowledge of the leading document "Mathematics Curriculum Standards of Fulltime Compulsory Education", guiding the mathematics curriculum reform and the practice of mathematics teaching in junior high school guided by the document. This paper analyses the national and international background of the promulgation of the document,the basic principle and several characteristics of some modern mathematics teaching views in the new "Mathematics Curriculum Standards".The writer realizes that one should have the right understanding of mathematics, mathematics study and mathematics teaching in order to undertake mathematics teaching in junior high school. And this paper expounds the questions as follows:the teaching practice guided by "Mathematics Curriculum Standards", the teaching which combines our life with the students' actual situation and the teaching combining with mathematics activities.And what's more ,it studies the teaching on Topic Study, the teaching through the mathematics exchange,the teaching with the aid of modern information technology and the evaluation of students. In ma paper ,it also points out some unsettled questions,which exists in my teaching practice.Mathematics teaching activity must be a practical activity guided by certain theories . The basic study method of this research is to use the basic principles of relevant educational teaching theories to analyse and summarize practical problems, guided by "Mathematics Curriculum Standard". Besides , this paper applies historical research approach, investigation analytic approach and experience induction .
