Chitson has been used widely in the field of medicine . More and more studies have indicated that chitson has the effects of anti-free radicals and anti-infection .It also can improve human's immunity ability and the healing of the broken bone . But the reports about chitson used in the field of sports have not been seen yet. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of taking chitson and different loads eccentric contracting exercise on free radical's metabolism of skeletal muscle in rats .62 Sprage-Dawley rats were randomly assigned to take chitson group and not take chitson group . Each group was further divided into control group, aerobic fatigue group, anaerobic fatigue group and endurance training group. The rats in aerobic fatigue group did downhill running on a motordriven treadmill (16m/'min.-16,total exercise time was 90 minutes).The rats in anaerobic fatigue group did downhill running for 30 minutes(30m/min,-16?.The rats in endurance training group had the same exercise model with the aerobic fatigue group's rats .They had been trained for ten days. All the rats in exercise groups were kill post-exercise immediately , and the rats in control group were killed at the same time. The testing indexes included the skeletal muscle SOD, MDA. The results showed:1. The MDA values of soleus muscle and gastrocnemius muscle increased 11.5% and 142.0% (P<0.01) respectively after one bout aerobic exercise compared with the control group's, while they increased 114.2%(P<0.01) and157.2%(P<0.01 )after one bout anaerobic exercise It indicated: The increasing of exercise intensity leaded to an increasing of lipid peroxidation lever.2. In this study the skeletal muscles' SOD values didn't change significantly. It suggested: The decreasing of SOD values may be one important season for the increasing of skeletal muscles' lipid peroxidation lever post-exercise.3. Rat's gastrocnemius muscle had a higher lever of free radical's metabolism compared with soleus muscle after one bout aerobic exercise. And gastrocnemius muscle's MDA values were still higher than control group's about 87.5% after being trained ten days. It indicated: Rat's soleus muscle showed a higher anti-lipox ability in different loads exercise compared with gastrocnemius muscle's in this study.4. For control groups the oxidant stress was not so severe and the influence of taking Chitson was not significant. With severity of exercise and oxidant stress increased, the influence of taking Chitson on antioxidant was getting more and more obvious.5. The lipox reaction in trained rats after intensive exercise reduced compared with the rats without training. The trained rats which took Chitson had a better effect on antioxidant compared with the rats without training.
