Ideological and Moral Education is an important course. As the main channel and key course to develop the effect of Ideological and Moral Education in higher education, it is not quite efficient till now, and not beneficial to develop college students' character training. The promotion of the efficiency of Ideological and Moral Education is received great attention. A study on this issue not only enriches the theoretical system of Ideological and Moral Education, but also plays important role in conducting the teaching of Ideological and Moral Education.The goal of this dissertation is to emphasize the significance of Ideological and Moral Education in higher education, to analyze the existing phenomena and the causes of deficiency in current Ideological and Moral Education, and to propose strategies for promoting the efficiency in the process of this course.The dissertation consists of the following three chapters:Chapter One states the significance of Ideological and Moral Education in higher education. This chapter focuses on the significant effects of Ideological and Moral Education in the evoluting of the two courses of Marxism and Ideological and Moral Education, fully promoting the quality education, educating college students to resist various harmful influence of ideology, and achieving the goal of Moral education.Chapter Two analyses the deficiency and its causes existing in Ideological and Moral Education in higher education. Based on the principle of making a concrete analysis of concrete conditions, current teaching situations in Ideological and Moral Education are analyzed properly. Focus is on the analysis of deficiency and its causes in current Ideological and Moral Education. And these analyses serve as the foundation the measures in Chapter Three.Chapter Three is a key part of this dissertation, which proposes the strategies for promoting the efficiency in Ideological and Moral Education. As far as the promotion of efficiency is concerned, further systematic researches are made to cope with the efficiency of Ideological and Moral Education. First, we should rely on fundamental theory of pedagogy, that is, we should observe the objective law, understand its nature, and observe the general rules. Second, efficient measures should be taken. The measures include: to develop the students' awareness, to enrich the teaching materials, to innovate the teaching methods, to perfect the teaching procedures, to reform textbook, to stress on course study, and to develop the teachers' competence. Thus, the promotion of efficiency in Ideological and Moral Education can be achieved.
