A Study on Educational Theory in Viewpoint of the Complex Mode of Thinking-A Reflection on Mode of Thinking in Study on Educational theory Study of complexity is an intersecting field in contemporary scientific study with great achievements, which tends to shift from natural science to social one.Complexity and simplicity are both objective attributes of things. However, when compared with simplicity, complexity spans different levels of objective things. Moreover, it represents an interrelation that can't be restored directly by traditional scientific theory. Then compared with the simple mode of thinking, the complex mode of thinking emphasizes on the non-restoration, non-stability and self-organiza -tion of a system and its diversity in evolution.In general, most researchers in China, pay more attention to applying the simple mode of thinking, neglecting the complex one in present study of educational theory, which are in dilemmas. At the same time, study on science, which have great influence on study of educational theory, develop thoroughly and have some new break -throughs, such as the new development of non-linear science and systematic theory. Therefore, when considering the developments in these fields and the essence of educational activities, the educa -tional circles are calling to change mode of thinking while doing the study on educational theory.The complex mode of thinking has an overall inspiration on educational theory, when considered from the following three aspects. In view of ontology, there are two levels of inspirations. Firstly, it transforms the study from scientific world to Lebenswelt. Secondly, it furthers people's understanding of the complexity of educational condition (including the objects of education, self-organization ofindividual learning, choice of educational value and the relation among factors of education. In view of epistemology, there are still two inspirations can be found. One is that it deepens and expands people's understanding of scopes of educational theory, (including the reconsideration of the scopes for senses of educational time, educational law, and educational development). The. other is that it make the study on educational theory continuously strengthen its independence, opening, awareness of evolution in understanding in order to adapt the complex educational research. In view of methodology, synthetic methodology will be further applied and developed, the specific methods will be changed in the study on educational theory.In addition, one should understand the relation between complex and simple mode of thinking dialectically, so that we would not go to extreme in the study on educational theory.
