"Scientific Literacy" as the center of current international issues of science education, gets more and more attention form the education section. Domestic and foreign educators found from the study that teaching the chemistry history is good for improving students'scientific literacy. But based on literature and previous studies analysis, we have found that the domestic study of chemistry history is mainly about the speculative nature of meaning or principles level. So how will the teaching of chemistry history affect the students and teachers of education ? What problems will it cause to implement this ? Around the above problems, this paper started from the following three parts:In the first part of the study, it reviewed the literature and the current status of chemistry history education of the domestic and foreign, defined the concepts of scientific literacy and chemical history and pointed out its important role and significance in the chemistry teaching and training the students'scientific literacy.In the second part of the study, it analyzed the situation of the presentation of the chemical history in high school chemistry textbook from the points of quality and quantity. and tried to offer useful suggestions for introducing chemistry history into the middle school chemistry textbook. Meanwhile, through conducting a questionnaire survey of teachers and students, I learned the students'needs and understanding of the content of chemistry history in chemistry teaching, teachers'attitudes and the current teaching situation.In the third part of the study, it overviewed teaching aims, principles and ways of introducing chemistry history into chemistry teaching. on this basis, it put forward the specific teaching strategies and used the specific teaching cases analyze its feasibility, effectiveness and deficiencies.Studies have shown that: Science literacy has played an important role in personal development and enhancing overall national strength. In high school ,chemistry education enhanced the curriculum target in improving students'scientific literacy, which requires us to optimize the restructuring of teaching content adjust teaching methods , take effective teaching strategies, and make a reasonable introduction of chemistry history. To enhance the education of chemical history is one effective way to comprehensively improve students'scientific literacy ,it is also the effective measures to promote students'overall development which can not be replaced.
