This study used the Chinese version of " secondary students Emotional Intelligence Scale" and "pro-social behavior questionnaire" as the investing tool to do the survey and investigate 500 students fiom Baoting Li Nationality Autonomous County of Hainan Province(131 of them from junior one, 131 of them from junior two, 119of them from senior one, 119 of them from senior two) about their emotional intelligence and pro-social behavior (moral behavior). The aim of this study is to investigated characteristics and law about emotional intelligence and pro-social behavior and their relations of students at different stages. The results showed that:(1)The development status of Li Nationality middle school student emotional intelligenceLi Nationality secondary students of different grades showed different levels of emotional intelligence, and different dimensions of emotional intelligenceo showing a different face. The middle school second grade have the significantly higher score than the other three grades on total dimension, junior students have the significantly higher score than sophomore, the others were no significant difference; boys and girls in the total score were not significant, however,in Emotion perception dimensions girls were significantly higher than boys;Non-child and only child did not show significant difference in emotional intelligence total scores and each dimension; urban students and rural students only in the understanding of emotional appeared differences, rural higher than than urban.(2) The development status of Li Nationality secondary students pro-social behaviorLi Nationality secondary students of different grades showed different levels of pro-social behavior,and different dimensions of emotional intelligenceo showing a different face. The middle school second grade have the highest score on total and each dimension, however,the other three grades were not significantly different; girls in the total score of prosocial behavior,helping behavior, sharing behavior, friendly behavior, ethics behavior were significantly higher than boys; non-child and only child in the pro-social behavior total score were not significantly different, non-child only in helping behavior was significantly higher than only child; rural students in the total scores of pro-social behavior, regulation behavior, helping behavior, considerate behavior and control behavior were significantly higher than urban students.(3) the relations between emotional intelligence and pro-social behavior of Li Nationality secondary students.Li Nationality secondary students'emotional intelligence associates significantly with pro-social behavior .According to the results of the study, we insist that we should arrange emotional intelligence training for secondary students with a purpose.Meanwhile we should make full use of cultural factors in the school moral education to improve the school moral education effect and student prosocial behaviors.
