From 1960s to the mid-1980s, a group of Mongolian farmers immigrated from the pure agricultural or semi-agricultural areas in south-eastern area of Mt. Hinggan to Hulun-Buir steppe well known as Barga Steppe. The immigrants not only affected local social culture, but also constructed their own localization through several dozens years of living in the pastoral area. This thesis, based on the field investigation materials, discusses some aspects of changes of Inner Mongolia's society and culture, in the newly established community after the immigration.This thesis is consisted of five parts, including introductory remarks, main text (four chapters), conclusion, reference, and appendix. The introductory remark describes reasons and significances of this research topic, research methods, and relevant theoretical perspectives. In the first chapter introduces research site of case study Dashimag in terms of geography and natural condition, formation of the village, origin of the village' name, as well as the origin of the village population. The second chapter mainly accounts production styles and life styles of Dashimag village, through comparison with the original home production of immigrants. In the third chapter, it talks on fact of mutual influences among agrarian culture and pastoral culture through description of changes in Dashimag immigrant village's social life. The fourth chapter analyzes the change of Dashimag immigrant community's production style and life style and the establishment of their community's identity which have been established under interactions with other communities and in local political context. In the conclusion, the author proposes her own viewpoint based on the content of the thesis. The appendix is composed of the interview materials and related pictures.
