As the development of information technology and the gradual innovation of education, the multimedia-assisted teaching method has been applied in the language teaching. This thesis devoted to discovering the situation of MASET (media-assisted senior English teaching) in Ju Town of Shandong province, so as to offer some implications for the development of MASET in this region. The survey is conducted among English teachers and students in four senior high schools of Ju Town with questionnaire and interviews. The research results indicate that:the four senior high schools of Ju Town have already equipped with multimedia-assisted teaching facilities; most teachers have already have the ability to apply multimedia-assisted teaching methods; most students and teachers have a positive view on MASET; multimedia-assisted teaching has played an important role in senior English teaching.All the research results in this essay also show that there are still some limitations of the development of MASET in Ju Town, for instance:the examination form of college entrance exam, the leading position of exam-oriented education, the limitation of English teachers'teaching level and students'English learning circumstance.There are some possible implications draws from the research:Education administration should invest more in the multimedia-assisted teaching facilities; schools need to pay more attention on the training of teachers'multimedia-assisted teaching ability; English teachers must realize the importance of MASET, but shouldn't rely on it; Students should learn to how to learn on one's own by Internet.This research involved only a sample from four senior high schools of Ju Town. Moreover, multiple data collection methods are needed to get more accurate data, such as classroom observation. Therefore, the results obtained in this thesis leave much to be improved.
