Famous of its criticalness, reflexivity, intellectuality, conscientiousness, Critical Thinking is thought as a way of thinking which the students should have in the 21st century. In American, as one of vital goals in science education of high school, the habit and the ability of Critical Thinking are required. In China, they attach importance to the cultivation of Critical Thinking in elementary and secondary school. However, as an important major medium of cultivating the students'Critical Thinking, it seems that it is implied, implicit and unreasonable in the course offering of physics.Some teachers do not pay much attention to the Critical Thinking, it is also loss for the teachers to practice cultivating the Critical Thinking in physics teaching.This paper uses data studies, questionnaire method, statistical analysis method and so on. It includes six parts:The first Part is the introduction. It mainly introduces the background of the problems, situation of study, research purpose, research method and research field.The second part sets out the concept of Critical Thinking, including intension, characteristic, principle and so on.The third part illuminates the homogeneity between thoughtsciences and Critical Thinking. Through questionnaire methods and comparative analysis from the teaching materials, it concludes that the Critical Thinking is loss in physics teaching in China. It tells us that it is necessary and feasible to cultivate Critical Thinking.The fourth part sets out the methods how to cultivate the Critical Thinking in physics teaching from exercise class education, theoretic teaching and experimental teaching.The fifth part analyses the practice and effect of cultivating Critical Thinking in physics teaching in elementary and secondary school.The sixth part includes conclusion and prospect. It aims at looking for the shortcomings and solving the problems.This paper attempts to give some advice for the teachers to cultivate the students' Critical Thinking., so it is beneficial to developing the ability and habit of Critical Thinking.
