Since China adopted family planning policy since the 70s of last century, China generated a lot of only children. According to the released 1% sampling data by National Bureau of Statistics in 2005, the number of 0-30 year-old population has reached 158 million. With our first generation of only children moving into marriage and childbearing, the research scholars turn their focus on the only child by the child's personality and individuality, socialization and social adaptation, whether there are differences from non-only child, and family and society to the will on marriage and child rearing, marriage matching, and marital stability and so on. However, as the data about the only child'marriage is limited, the research on the marriage is scarce, let alone the special research on the education level effecting the marriage as an important factor of marital match and marital stability. So the article's topic has great theoretical and practical significance. In this thesis, the author lying in the 1% of the population survey data according to 2005, the survey data from "Suzhou only children's marriage and fertility patterns and policy control" led by professor Luo Keren and Wu ruijun in July 2006 and the survey data from "Minhang District Marital status of adult only children, Problems and Solutions" led by Professor Wu Ruijun in July 2008, analysis the educational level and marital status of the first generation of only children of urban, seeing the non-only children as the reference group, and then studies the role the education level plays in the marriage matching and marital stability of the first generation of only children. The results show:(1) The education level affects the only children'age matching significently. The lower the education level for the only son, the greater the probability of wife'age over the husband; The lower of the education level for the only daughter, the lower the probability of wife'age over the husband, the greater the probability of husband'age over the wife 4 years; The non-only child'education level affects the age-match insignificantly.(2) The higher the education level for the only son, the only daughter and non-only son with urban hukou, the greater the probability of the hukou homogeneous matching;the high school education level belonging to urban hukou only daughter affects the hukou-match insignificantly. The higher the education level for the only child and non-only child with rural hukou, the lower the probability for the hukou homogeneous matching (3)the lower the education level for the only son, the greater the probability of marriaging outside-city wife;the education of only daughter and non-only child affects the area match insignificantly.(4)the higher the educational level for the only child, the greater the probability of status homogeneous matching; while the opposite for non-only child.(5)the higher the educational level for the only child, the greater the probability of marital stability.
