The United States has been the focus of China's education. The United States is having curriculum reform as well as our country. For USA, STEM education is one of the most important point. STEM means science, technology, engineering and mathmatics education. Mathmatics and science have got a lot of attention, and the techonology education has the national and state's standard. Howerer, the engineering education in k-12 doesn't get enough development until these years. So this paper puts more emphise on engineering education and intergration of STEM.This paper is divided into four parts: The first part introduces the research origin, and review the related researches in our country and USA which can clear the paper's research thought;The second part introduces the development paths of STEM education in K-12. Although it is the new thing, it has much attention form the government and education organizations. Some of them pubulished a few valueable reports about the STEM, whicn promoted the rapaid development of STEM.The third part is about the status of STEM education in USA in K-12. For the poor school achievement in science and mathmatics and the fear that USA may lose the status of economice leader in the world, the government is eager to strengthen the STEM courses and to develp intergation courses of STEM, which can improve the problem-solving, creativity, and innovation reasoning abilities of all the students.The fourth section describes the present situation of American STEM teachers' training. Including STEM teachers'existing quality, as well as STEM the teacher's cultivation. Since STEM is a new integration feild, the lack of teachers is very serious, American universities are actively innovative and exploreing a suitable STEM teachers training path.
