Nowadays, most of the higher vocational school have already adopted the model of different optional courses, which gives more degree of freedom for the students to participate into P.E. Therefore, it is important to strengthen the teaching and management of P.E course in higher vocational school. Assessment is the key factor of Aerobics Teaching, and also plays a significant role in promoting all-round education and P.E reform. The assessment is designed as the baton of the teaching for the goal, content and method in teaching process.Combining aerobics as selective course vocational examination analysis of the scope, the essay puts forward the method----"Assessment in combination of performance and competition" by employing methods of documentation, questionnaire research, logic analysis method, teaching experiment method, mathematical method of average and so on, which describes the theoretical basis of "Assessment in combination of performance and competition" method. The experiment is carried out based on class 2,3 of Aerobics,2008 in Jiangxi vocational and technical college of industrial engineering and analyzed with the statistics comparison between these two classes. The goal of this essay aims to perfect the assessment method, improve the teaching quality and strengthen synthesis qualities by applying the function of direction and cohesion.The result of research shows the behavioral expression of students is to be more conscious, confident and active under the influence of this method. The method is more helpful to improve the Aerobics Teaching and Reform, and also to the students' skills and development of compound professional ability. Besides, the method can not only be employed into aerobics teaching, but also offer beneficial reference to the assessment of other P.E courses.
