Research On University Intellectual Property Income

In the era of knowledge economy, as knowledge plays a more and more important role, it has become an important focus in international competition. Intellectual property ownership and conversion rate has become an important indicator of economic strength.The superiorities of university as diverse subjects, strong human resource, timely information and academic environment determine the importance role of university in national intellectual property strategy. Universities emphasize intellectual property protection work and strive to realize the economic value of intellectual property.In this context, as the core value of academic capitalism became an important part of the university spirit, the long held tradition of academic freedom and academic autonomy of higher education has undergone a fundamental transformation to a market-oriented one. The nature and function of universities marked the brand of the times-exchange intangible knowledge for tangible rewards has become the irresistible trend of the university transition. Commercialization re-shaped the paradigm of universities as public goods dissemination of knowledge and expands the role of scientific research.In this paper, this article analyzes Chinese universities as research object, explored the current status of university intellectual property income by literature research and case studies, and proposed evaluation of university intellectual property income. Through literature, reviewed the concept of intellectual property and presented scientific research and teaching achievement transfer of the status quo. By analyzing the results of research achievement income and teaching achievement income, found that university research achievements have good quality, but transfer income is too low; teaching achievements lack of management. Through case studies, this paper discusses the research achievements income and teaching achievements income of foreign university and proposed evaluation of university intellectual property income and gives some advice on how to improve university intellectual property income.
