Implementation Status Research Of Sports Elective Course In Beijing City University

Beijing City University is the first private college who has been issued the national recognition of qualifications in China, is a banner in private colleges in our country. As the most representative private college, it has important influence on private colleges around the country. Its teaching methods and peculiarities improve national senior education. Under the guidance of national policy and the direction of the school policy, the mode of sports elective course is carried out in Beijing City University in September 2009. Research on implementation status of sports elective course has important theoretic and practical meaning, and has positive influence on development of national private education.Literature, interviews, questionnaire survey and statistics methods are used in this research. The main conclusions are described below.(1),Sports elective course meets students'studying needs of sport projects who like at some degree. Table tennis, badminton, tennis etc. are students favorite projects, but due to lack of teachers, space and equipments, these projects cannot be carried out all smoothly.(2),The mode of selection of sports elective course in Beijing City University is artificial elective, freshman and sophomore are all mixed together when select course, most students are satisfied with the course selection methods, otherwise a part of them are not.(3),The trend of students'motivation to select course is manifold, the top three motives are interests, obtaining credit and test difficulty degree. But it is found in this investigation that a part of students are following others blindly.(4),Students put emphasis on "studying exercise methods" for sports theory studying, and "pleasant games" for sports skills. Most students are satisfied with teachers'teaching methods and attitude.(5),Setup of sports elective course is recognized by students. It is found in the investigation of good influence factors of sports elective course on students that studying interest and consciousness of most students are improved obviously, but some insufficiency still exist.Suggestions:speed up construction of sports venues and facilities, add sports; improvement options approach; strengthening teachers faculty; sound evaluation system.
