Nowadays when the volleyball game is undergoing an overall development toward being higher, faster and more various, the combination and application of tactics are seeking a more effective way, which presents stricter demands on the training and application of these tactics into the competition. In order to provide a consultation for volleyball teams around the world in the training and application of attacking tactics, this thesis is going to systematically study these tactics of world male and female volleyball players as well their differences. Choosing the world high-level volleyball games as research object, making a tactic statistics on the last 8 matches of both man and women volleyball competition of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, employing approaches of Video statistics and Plato analysis, I have drawn the following conclusions:1. The features of the male volleyball players using attacking tacticsAttacking tactics:According to the frequency of the attacking, the tactics can be divided into force attack, quick attack, solid attack, quick-parallel-defensive attack. Force attack is most frequently used in competition but the least effective, while the seldom used quick-parallel-defensive attack always work. Therefore, quick-parallel-defensive attack should be employed more frequently in the future competitions. Comparison between the first Attacker and counter Attacker:since the first attacker and the counter attacker receive volleyball in a different way, their application of attacking tactics are different and the structure of their tactics also vary a lot. Features of the attacking area:Varying from more distribution of the attacking area to less, it can be aivided into the 4th area, the 3rd area, the 2nd area, the 1st area, the 6th area and the 5th area. Structures of the first attacker and the counter attacker are different.2. The features of the female volleyball players using attacking tactics Attacking tactics:According to the frequency of the attacking, the tactics can be divided into force attack, quick attack, solid attack, quick-parallel-defensive attack. The solid attack, which is least frequently used, should be employed in modern women volleyball competitions in order to win. According to the effect of spike, the most effective one is quick-parallel-defensive attack, with quick attack, solid attack, and force attack following behind. The quick-parallel-defensive attack scores three times effective than the other three. Comparison between the first attacker and counter attacker: Structures of the application of tactics by female first attacker and counter attacker are different. Features of the attacking area:Varying from more distribution of the attacking area to less, it can be divided into the 4th area, the 2nd area, the 3rd area, the 6th area, the 1st area and the 5th area. Structures of the first attacker and the counter attacker are different.3. Comparison of the application of attacking tactics by male volleyball players and female volleyball playersComparison of attacking tactics of male volleyball players and female volleyball players:Female players tend to use force attack and quick attack more frequently than male players while male players use solid attack more frequently than female players. Quick attack should continue to be frequented by female players since it is the key to the success of a competition. As for male players, they have mastered solid attack which is a kind of attack seldom used by the female player but a very effective way. Therefore, coached should pay more attention to the training of solid attack and raise the attacking ability of the female players. The comparison the attacking effect by male players and female players:The rate of spike by male players is higher than that of female players. Perhaps because male players are stronger in their attacking. The comparison of the male and female attacking areas:Male players often launch attacks in the 3rd and 1st area which female players tend to attack more in the 2nd and the 4th area.
